0316 - Manhatten Bridge

This highlight was taken during our 2022 visit to the USA, which also took us to New Amsterdam, or was it New York? To be precise, the Manhattan Bridge connects Manhattan, with the "mainland" part of New York. What is presently called New York started as Nieuw Amsterdam (New Amsterdam) on the southern tip of the Manhattan island.

This image highlights the steel wiring that provides the structural stability of the bridge. I rendered this image in black-and-white, to invite the eye to focus on the key structures, while also stressing the left/right symmetry. This is also why I decided to crop the image in a 1x1 format.
