Three trees surviving the blistering heat of north western Namibia. Sossusvlei, with its red dunes, is to the south. However, due to the enduring drought, and ongoing erosion, the areas to the north of Sossusvlei are increasingly covered by red sands as well.
While travelling around this desolate landscape, we stumbled across these four lonesome trees, which seem to manage to survive against the odds of drought and desertification.
In post, I used some dehaze to add more structure to the hills in the background. The dust in the sky, and mid-day sun, created a lot of haze covering these hills. I also slightly increased the saturation of the greens and reds, to increase the colour contrast between the sand and the trees. In particular the tree on the foreground.
