This year I haven't had much time to edit photos from recent trips, let alone venturing out to get new material. One of the reasons is that I need to use a lot of my spare time to get fit for a bike tour (on road bike) from Innsbruck (Austria) across the Alps, to the Garda Lake in Italy. Which brings me to this week's photo. This photo was taken when visiting Garda Lake to celebrate the arrival of friends of ours, who just finished the tour that I will embark on this summer.
I took this photo in the village of Arca, just off Garda Lake. In ancient times, the hills around the lake served well to build strategically located fortresses. I'm sure that during my bike tour this summer, when climbing "yet another" Alp, I will be able to draw energy from knowing what beautiful landscape awaits me.
