Week 05 - Trees on dry land - EPx

EP20160823-0167

After four weeks filled with rain, I felt compelled to reach out to parts of my archiv with photos of drier regions.

This week's photo was taken in Sossusvlei in 2016. The Namib dessert is certainly among the driest places I've ever visited.

While in Sossusvlei, I spotted these trees, which clearly haven't seen much rain in the past decennia. In the foreground you can see the dried out clay bottom of a former sea / river. In the background, you can see one of the many dunes around Sossusvlei. What made it special, was the fact that the early morning sun painted out the contours of a sun-beam on the sand dunes.
