A few weeks ago I explored the south-western part of Germany with a good friend of mine. One of the places we visited was Burg Hohenzollern. The evening before visiting the actual castle, I managed to take this photo.
Thanks to the well chosen lights, one can easily see the impressive structures of the castle. I find castle Hohenzollern actually more impressive than Schloß Neuschwanstein. The breath of castle Hohenzollern lends it, in my opinion, more character than Schloß Neuschwanstein has.
I did have to combine two exposures to end up with this result. The lights that light up the castle also result in some spots of the castle being over-exposed. Therefore I had to combine a slightly under-exposed shot with a regular exposure.
