The Hekla is one of the most active volcanoes on Iceland. Apparently, over 20 eruptions have occurred in and around the volcano since 874. The Hekla is currently not active. Given its past, one might say it is snoozing. Knowing that the Hekla is a relatively active volcano, leads the clouds around its top add a bit of mystery to the photo. The way grass on the lava sands lines up provides depth to this week's photo.
